FAQ

Hey! So I figured I'd make this just to cover some questions that I get asked quite a lot. So please refer here just in case I've already answered your question! 

1. When is Riptide going to start / Where can I find it? 

Riptide will begin as soon as my finacee' and I have a home. We're in the process of her getting a visa to live with me in the UK, and until then it's a matter of waiting and just trying to get by. As for where, we plan on setting up a website especially for Riptide. Once it does start we'll have a big ol' link on here somewhere! 

In the meantime, I suggest you have a read of Currents. This is a prequel to Riptide, and a form of comic practice. But it is relevant to the story and ties in later!

2. Can you give me a link to Currents?

3. What program do you use? 

I mostly use Paint Tool Sai and a bit of Photoshop for editing.

4. What's this whole thing about your partner getting a visa / has she got it yet? 

She's American, and I am English. We met in person for the first time a few years back and hit it off, now we're in a committed relationship and are trying really damn hard to get her to move here. There are a bunch of reasons as to 'why the UK' and all that, but that's something we like to keep between ourselves and the law firm we're working with - unless y'all really wanna know then ask pirvately lmao. 

As for if she's got it. Trust me, you'll know if and when she does. 

5. Can I draw you fanart!? 

PLEASE. 

6. Do you take requests / trades? 

I do not take requests at all I'm afraid. Occasionally though I'm willing to do an art trade, which I'll announce. I also sometimes hold art raffles!

7. What's up with your fluctuating activity? 

Well, this is because I've been bouncing around looking for jobs since I just lost mine. And also when I am working obviously I have to manage around that too. Also comic pages, Patreon work, it all takes top priority. But I am busting my ass off trying to get more content out for you guys!

8. I have a question about an OC / Riptide / Currents. May I ask? 

Go for it! You may ask either one of us. Although, just be aware we don't want to give away any spoilers! 

9. What tablet do you use? 

I use a Ugee, which is much like a Cintiq but like half the price lmao 

10. Is there any way I can get more access to your comic or Riptide work?

11. Will you advertise my comic? 

Surprisingly, I get asked this a lot. If not that I recieve comments on my work of people just linking to their comics. No, I will not do that and any comments doing so  will be marked as spam. HOWEVER when I am doing a feature (which I generally announce either on a poll or status) I'll be more than happy to advertise your comic then! x

12. Will you illustrate my comic? 

Again, this is something that gets asked frequently. As much as I'd love to, I simply don't have the time for such a huge commitment nor does my finacee'. We both have our hands VERY full with our own work and comics. But I'm certain there are other artists out there who are willing to help! Note: I do accept some book illustration commissions, but it does depend on my time management and how much work I have at the time. 

13. "___________ Is stealing your art // their character looks a lot like yours (Rupert)!"

Unless you have hard evidence that someone is tracing of completely ripping off one of my designs, don't let me know about this. I understand there are artists who are inspired or influenced by my work and style, and i'm okay with that as long as they're not tracing or too heavily referencing a certain piece. Also, yes, I know there are a lot of mermen out there who look like Rupert, while I love him to pieces and won't ever change his design drastically, I acknowledge he doesn't have the most unique design online as far as the whole cutesy merboy OCs go (it's if they're clearly ripping on aspects of his personality and stuff that's obvious in what I draw him that I may get concerned over, otherwise it's fine lmao). I just hear this a lot and feel it's fruitful to include it in this, just because 9 times out of 10 it's just people who are influenced by my art.

Having said that, if someone is reposting my work or tracing it do let me know and give me the evidence alongside it! I don't condone witch hunts, so if this happens to occur please inform the person in question to sort it out privately and let me know via note as well. Thank you <3
