Rupert Stone 2012 - 2017

To be honest I don't recall what brought me to make Rupert in the first place, and any art I have of him from before 2012 has been lost in the winds of time. I can tell you, however, how he came to be canonly a merman and his first interactions with PANS0L0's child, Daniel. I was watching The Little Mermain with a friend and we were making fun of Rupert and turned him into a merman for laughs, at the same time Pan just made Daniel and I took the timing as a chance to RP and hence my handsome son now has his fish-like self! 

2013 - 2013 BOY was this child super underdeveloped back then! As you can imagine, he was a typical pretty shy boy with little to no personality above what I just said. He was the 'smol boy' alongside Daniel who was the 'macho man' (only not lol). It was a bit of fun to be fair, especially because we've always wanted to ship our characters but none seemed to stick or work but these two did - so we didn't bother too much for development at the time. 

2014 - 2015 This time was when we ACTUALLY began to develop those two and we wrote them a LOT during this time, alongside a bunch of other characters who you have seen that are part of the Riptide universe. Over this period I put a lot of work into fleshing Rupert out, and he began to gradually feel more and more like a real person rather than a cardboard cutout of a character. He became far less helpless and his development over the period of the actual story came out so much better the more times I got to write him! 

2016 - 2017 While this was mostly the time we took to selling Riptide as a concept that we wanted to turn into a comic to you guys, there was still a bunch of story and character development going on! These days I don't just feel like Rupert is a 3-dimensional character, but one that is just so... I guess real to me? He has his little perks to his personality that I adore, he has his flaws and his good points and his ways of presenting himself around certain characters. I have put the most work into this character, and I am SO proud of him ;v; 

What makes things all better is that I know that you guys like him too, and that makes it all worth while! I just can NOT wait for you to get to see Riptide itself, I'm sure it's going to shock you all because there are things that will happen you surely won't be expecting!! 8v
