Riptide

So, as I'm sure you're all aware by now that myself and Captain-Hotpants have been working on a story (soon to be a comic) called Riptide, a historical fiction tale on our pirate, navy and other characters in the 1700s. 

This all started out when I essentially badgered Pan into writing with me years back, when their Daniel and my Rupert were fresh and new babies who we just goofed off with at the time. But, as time went by the story began to progress from silly shipping and dumb little rps to something much more, much grander. Our two characters began to grow more and more developed, and became incredibly important characters to the both of us and then from this more and more characters came to be and were thrown into the universe that was becomming the story that we adore and are so proud of today. While stories normally do progress in such a way, yes, something else also came from Riptide. From the amount we wrote together, we began to just chat more and crave each other's company more and more. Before either of us knew it, I had booked my tickets to fly over to visit them - to see the bestest friend and co-creator was the BEST opportunity of my life. Of course, you're all aware of how this went down when I arrived at the airport and leapt into their arms. It's so strange, and wonderful, to think that this story (while obviously and certainly not being the ONLY thing) that brought us together. Rupert, Daniel, everyone involved and the whole story... not only do I love and cherish it because of all the hardwork and effort Pan and I have both put into it, but also because it has helped bring us together. Pan is the Daniel to my Rupert so to speak, and ironically in a way that works too. I never, ever would have predicted this to happen. To share my characters with a person who actually, really loves and cares for them as much as me (and same for me with their fucking amazing characters) and to be able to just build this entire story from the dumbest, smallest ideas just... when I think about not only how far we've come but the story as well my mind is just utterly blown, and I feel so honoured and lucky to be able to share this with Pan. My creativity, my story process and characters - my imagination, these are such intimate things to me as a person who creates, and to share this among other things with Pan is just... I can't begin to explain it, but in a way it's euphoric. Pan, you are so amazing and everything we've done so far is incredible and SO life changing. I have big dreams for Riptide, and I have big dreams for us <3 not a day goes by where you don't inspire me! I could honestly go on, but I think I ought to stop here as you're cheekily texting me whilst on your break ~ sorry I took SO long to finish this aha, I hope you like it baby~
